What is white-lipped viper?

The white-lipped viper, also known as the Habu snake, is a venomous snake found in Southeast Asia and Japan. It is a pit viper and has a distinctive white stripe on the upper lip, which gives it its name.

These snakes can grow up to 2 meters in length and have a stout, muscular body. They are known for their aggressive behavior and quick strike, making them a dangerous animal to encounter.

The venom of the white-lipped viper is potent and can cause severe symptoms, including swelling, pain, and bleeding. In severe cases, it can lead to coma and even death.

Despite their venomous nature, these snakes are often targeted for their meat and skins, leading to a decline in their population. They are listed as a protected species in many countries to prevent their extinction.
